Senior Energy Auditor

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq Full-Time MesoAxis

Position Summary

MesoAxis is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Energy Auditor to lead and deliver energy audit and energy cost reduction services across industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities.

This role is responsible for independently planning, conducting, managing, and delivering energy audits from initial assessment through final reporting, implementation planning, and measurement & verification activities.

The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead for MesoAxis Energy Audit Services and will be expected to engage directly with clients, identify energy-saving opportunities, develop technically sound recommendations, and support the growth of the company's energy performance and cost reduction business.

Key Responsibilities

Energy Audits & Assessments

  • Lead and conduct comprehensive energy audits for industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities.
  • Perform site inspections and energy assessments independently.
  • Analyze facility energy consumption patterns and operating costs.
  • Review electricity bills, fuel consumption records, utility tariffs, and operating data.
  • Evaluate electrical, mechanical, HVAC, process, compressed air, steam, and utility systems.
  • Identify energy conservation measures and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develop energy baselines and performance benchmarks.
  • Estimate energy savings, implementation costs, and payback periods.

Technical Analysis

  • Conduct detailed analysis of electrical distribution systems and power consumption.
  • Assess HVAC systems, motors, pumps, fans, compressors, boilers, and process equipment.
  • Perform power quality assessments where applicable.
  • Analyze operating schedules, maintenance practices, and process inefficiencies.
  • Utilize energy monitoring equipment and data logging systems.
  • Interpret energy data and prepare engineering calculations supporting recommendations.

Reporting & Client Engagement

  • Prepare professional energy audit reports and executive summaries.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Explain technical findings in a clear and practical manner.
  • Support clients during implementation planning and project prioritization.
  • Participate in technical meetings, site visits, and client consultations.

Measurement & Verification

  • Develop measurement and verification methodologies.
  • Verify achieved energy savings after implementation.
  • Compare post-implementation performance against established baselines.
  • Prepare measurement and verification reports.

Service Leadership

  • Lead the development and continual improvement of MesoAxis Energy Audit Services.
  • Develop audit methodologies, templates, procedures, and best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and future audit team members.
  • Support business development activities and technical proposal preparation.
  • Assist in defining new energy efficiency and energy management service offerings.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience conducting energy audits independently.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial and commercial facilities.
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical systems, motors, pumps, compressed air systems, and utility systems.
  • Experience preparing professional energy audit reports and presenting findings to clients.

Preferred Certifications

One or more of the following is preferred:

  • Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
  • CMVP (Certified Measurement & Verification Professional)
  • ISO 50001 Energy Management experience
  • ASHRAE Energy Audit experience

This position is expected to become a key technical leadership role within MesoAxis and contribute directly to the company's mission of helping facilities reduce energy cost through engineering-led audits, implementation support, and verified savings.
